Richard David Officer, 72, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 following post-surgical complications. Richard is survived by his wife of 41 years, Katherine (Lee) and his precious pets, Fred & Ginger. Born in Monroe, LA on August 3, 1946, Richard met the love of his life, Lee, in Virginia before moving to St. Petersburg, then Brandon, FL where Richard worked in the IT field with various companies and law firms before retiring in February 2018 to Ocala, FL. Richard is predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Charles Officer and two brothers, Charles Edwin Jr. and Glenn Allen. Richard will be deeply missed by friends and family.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Richard passed away so soon after retirement. I often thought of you and Richard and know how much you loved and cared for each other.
Richard was one of the sweetest, gentlest men I ever knew. I will never forget the many kindnesses that Lee and Richard showed me over our long friendship.
