Richard (Ric) Lyle McLendon Beloved father, husband, brother and friend departed this life on April 19, 2026. He was born in College Park, Georgia on January 18, 1967. He brought warmth, comfort, and joy into every day. He always put his family first. He will be remembered for his generous heart, and the deep love he shared with his wife. His compassion and encouragement touched everyone who knew him, leaving a lasting impression that will never be forgotten. He had a lot of pride for the time he spent in the Army. Later in life he found his way back to the church and it became a very important part of who he was. He cared very deeply for his church family. He will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his father Richard Lyle McLendon, his daughter-in-law Ana Montalvo-Mendez, and his best fur-buddy, Thor.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Jane McLendon, mother Juanita Smith, and brother Christopher McLendon (Melissa). His children Samantha McLendon (Joshua), Kristopher McLendon (Paige), Cheyenne (CJ) Carrell and his fur son Simba. His beautiful grandchildren Violet, Aleyna, Dominic, Esperanza, Everrett and a tiny peanut due later this year. He will be missed by many other family members and dear friends.

I was in the 3rd 47th Infantry when I met Ric he was a very caring man he is one in a million, he helped me after my surgery he came to Bloomington indiana just to take care of me at that time my wife was in a wheelchair and couldn’t take care of me very well, NOW THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL A TRUE FRIEND!! I will miss you brother will never forget you love you brother… hey hold on to those till we meet again.
