Robert James Sessions Sr.

This Earth lost a legend with the passing of Robert James Sessions, Sr., of Gainesville, FL, on July 23, 2026. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Warwick, RI, on Jan. 5, 1948, to the late Robert “Ace” Sessions and Marjorie Blair (nèe Carbary). He lived a life anchored in honesty, integrity, and hard work, fostered by his service in the U.S. Navy.

Known to the many that loved him as “Tank Top Bob,” Bob was always the life of the party. His humor and wit were matched only by his love for family and friends. Bob was a man who could always be counted on to lend a hand to those in need. He taught his children to be resourceful, creative, problem-solvers. No task was too big or small that he couldn’t solve it with an item from his magical shed.

Bob spent 52 years married to the love of his life, Marianne. Their bond was unbreakable. Together they exemplified the ideals of commitment, devotion, and true love.

Bob is survived and missed by his adoring family: his wife, Marianne Sessions (nèe Sheridan); his children, Robert (Adriana) Sessions, Jr., and Danielle (Aaron) Johnson; his beloved grandsons, Hunter and Henry Sessions; his siblings, Pamela (Guy) Wheeler, Claudia (John) Badessa, and Brian (Donna) Sessions; his myriad of in-laws he thought of as siblings; and a host of loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
