Robert “Bob” Lorney O’Connor was born February 18, 1948 in Waterbury, Connecticut to Harold and Jane O’Connor. He passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Bob married Susan Louise Bouchard on July 31, 1970 and they had two children: Kyle (wife Paula) and Shae (husband Danny). He had seven grandchildren: Jessica, Jamie, Brianna, William, Madison, Savanna, and Brooklyn and 2 great grandchildren: Sabrina and David. He is also survived by a sister, Maureen Rambo (husband Wayne) of Ocala, and numerous other family members all over the United States. Bob and Sue have called Bronson home for over 40 years. Bob retired from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Department, Department of Corrections after 27 years of service. Additionally, he served as a volunteer fireman with the Bronson Fire Department for 30 years. Bob’s hobbies included playing racquetball and traveling. Bob and Sue enjoyed RVing and exploring the country. Whether they were cruising and taking in the sights of Alaska or doing a jeep tour in Utah they made so many wonderful memories traveling together. His favorite places to travel were out west. As much as he loved his hobbies, he loved his family above all. He enjoyed spending time and making memories with family. From hosting family gatherings at their home, spending holidays with family, to gathering everyone together to dance at a celebration, Bob enjoyed life and always tried to make the most of each and every day. His sense of humor was infectious and he loved laughter. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, Pépère, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend and our lives are richer because of his influence.

Dad, I am so glad you are not in pain any more. You will be missed very much. We love you. Rest easy in the arms of the Lord.
He was a good friend to us & an outstanding racquetball player. We miss him deeply Lee
Dear Sue, Shae, Kyle, and family, We love you and wish you peace and comfort during this time. We loved Bob and will miss him. Hugs from the Wolfersons.
So sorry for Bob’s loss to the whole family. I enjoyed his company, optimism, & conversation. Most importantly, I enjoyed really whipping up on him at racquetball. Once in a while, I would let him win just so he would keep coming back… 🙂 In all seriousness, such a great guy. And Sue – thanks for bringing him to visit us even when Bob could not drive himself.
Love to Sue, Kyle and Shae and all the family. May memories of times spent together bring you peace.
