Violet Elizabeth Shutt, age 108, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on March 20, 2019 in Orange Park, Florida. She was born April 23, 1910 in Leechburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Lewis and Mariah (Lambding) Shaner. Mrs. Shutt was a Dieticians Aide in her younger years, but spent most of her life as a devoted housewife for many years. When asked regularly what the secret to a long life was she would always respond "Eat good food and take care of yourself. That's about all I can say". She would also say that another key to her long life is reading books everyday. She also had many hobbies which included knitting, crochet, painting and cooking. Mrs. Violet has outlived her four children, and survivors include her 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. The Shutt family would like to thank all of her many friends that she has met, she loved and cherished them all, as well as all of the health care staff who took very good care of her. Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to be serving the Shutt family.
