Dad was the best man I knew. He was the coolest, kindest, smartest, most generous dad I could’ve ever been lucky enough to have. He was always there for me whenever I needed him, no matter how big or small, – as well as helping everyone else out in any way that he could. One of the many things I admired about dad.
He was happy and light-hearted, – wanting to laugh and have a good time, friendly and talkative to everyone he met, with the goal of putting a smile on their face.
Dad was extremely intelligent, – knowledgeable on almost every subject! So, if I ever needed expertise on any topic, I knew I could always ask him.
He was tough and resilient, getting through his wives passing away, and beating throat cancer, – so I was hoping he would beat this too…
I had some the most fun times of my life with dad. We had many adventures together and did lots of activities. We used to ride his motorcycle together on the twisty, turny mountains of Pennsylvania, fished on his river boat, shot guns in the woods, golfing, played billiards, rode rollercoasters, went zip lining, kayaking, frolicked in the ocean, went to zoos, aquariums, listened to live music, pickleball, bocce, cornhole, ladderball, attended sporting events, nature walks, and recently started going to Bingo. I will cherish and miss all the good times we’ve shared together over the years…
It will never be the same without him. Although, I will make sure his memory lives on by sharing his legacy.
My dad, William Richard “Bill” Koofer was truly a one of a kind, special, wonderful, beautiful gem that shined bright wherever he went, spreading joy to whomever he met.
